Boskamp

“Jy genoeg warmgoed?” vra ek.

“Ja nee, ekt my baadjie ingepak, ek sal reg wees.”

Hier dan, so ‘n paar grepe uit ‘n man se oogpunt.

Travelling Tuesday: Southern Namibia

“Writing makes a map, and there is something about a journey that begs to have its passage marked” – Christina Baldwin, Story Circle Network

A few years ago I decided to take my then fiance on a short road trip to Sossusvlei.

On this trip, I discovered not only the most scenic road in Namibia,

I also discovered that it is not the destination but the journey that matters,

as the quote so rightfully states.

For anyone wandering whether Namibia is worth all the trouble or not,

I can assure you,

IT IS.

Every mile of it changes your heart, your perspective and your being.

You’ll want to come back.

You’ll need to return.

Southern Namibia

Southern Namibia

To call this post Southern Namibia is a bit crazy as these photos come from a very small portion of Namibia’s south. But in lack of better description, we will remain with Southern Namibia for the time being.

These photos were taken quite some time ago in an area that I then visited for the first time. To say that I fell in love would be a bit of an understatement. I totally lost my heart in these mountains and picked it up several years later in the Kaokoland. But that is a story for another day.

Here are some of the highlights of the road trip from Windhoek along the C24 and D854 to Sossusvlei.
