Vingerklip | A Family Outing

What better way to celebrate grandma’s birthday than with an outing into the wild? Well, we couldn’t go too wild… we had grandma and grandpa with us. And our little mister isn’t the best climber yet… but it is never too early to teach him to love and appreciate nature so I figured Vingerklip is probably a safe bet.

Located only about 130km from Otjiwarongo the drive isn’t too far and we headed out to be there in time for lunch. We did the short hike up the Vingerklip before lunch. Though it has been raining, it was still a very hot hike as there is no big trees along the way to provide cover from the ever blazing sun.

The hike is quite steep and our little boy really struggled with the loose rocks. I highly recommend shoes with grip. Leave the sandals at home for this one.

Here are a few photos from our day out.

We had lunch at Vingerklip Lodge.

Entrance fees to do the short hike is N$10 per person.
