Friday Fact | Zebra

Why do zebras have stripes?

The lines on a zebra breaks/distorts the outline of the animal. When a herd runs away, the attacker sees a mess of lines and finds it difficult to pin point a single animal to attack.

Some scientists believe that zebras identify each other via their stripes.
