As a little girl I was incredibly curious. Not that I am any less curious now, but I suppose I can contain it better. On one of my ‘investigations’ I discovered a suitcase with a strange shape in the top cupboard. Of course there was no way to move it and I couldn’t exactly ask my mother what was in it as she would then know that I nosed around.
That evening I had to fain a sudden interest in my mother’s fabric to accidentally discover the suitcase that I desperately wanted to have a peek in…
After a story or two, dad came to take the suitcase down… In it I discovered a very odd looking piano. I was intrigued beyond measure. It took a great deal of convincing to get mom to take out the accordion and demonstrate this strangely beautiful instrument’s powers.
Though I do not have a musical bone in my body, I fell in love. I am not a lover of country music, but when an accordion is used correctly.. There is nothing that beats its magic.
