Mornings in the Red Cold

My life between Germany and Namibia


I enjoy every minute of my everyday life here. The alarm on his Samsung Galaxy goes off at 6.36. I take my time to wake up and enjoy the warmth of his body before I finally get up. I knock on her door and say, good morning, it´s 7…I hear her mumble under her blanket, I go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, wash my face. He watches me while I am getting dressed, and sometimes makes a nice comment about my flat stomach or my round ass.

I am preparing lunch boxes. When I am in a good mood I add a piece of marzipan to his box, he loves it. If there is enough time, I make myself a cup of Nestlé instant coffee and have some yogurt or a banana. I then sit on the couch and enjoy the moment…the sunlight is falling on the curtains and…
